Pick Up Personal Property and Decedent Release Information
Personal Property
Personal property consists of items of value found on or near the decedent.
Clothing and valuables, such as jewelry, watches, and important papers, are generally returned to the family through the funeral home. Some items are not returned to the family, including medications, driver license, and any paraphernalia.
Personal property that is in the custody of the Coroner will be released to the funeral home for your convenience. Upon request personal property can be released to the legal next of kin instead of the funeral home. To reduce your wait time, please call ahead before coming to the office so that the personal property can be prepared for pick up.
Decedent Release Information
If you are with a funeral home and need the status of the release for a decedent, the morgue staff will contact you when a decedent is ready to be transferred into your care. Decedents are released seven (7) days a week between 7:30am and 4:30pm.
